“‘I long for home, long for the sight of home.
If any god has marked me out again
for shipwreck, my tough heart can undergo it.
What hardship have I not long since endured
at sea, in battle! Let the trial come.’”

Homer’s “The Odyssey”; Book 5, 229-33

After twenty years of war, the noble and famous general Odysseus is returning to his home planet of Ithaca when his ship is lost after a vicious attack. Presumed dead, Odysseus must journey through space for seven years, his final odyssey, to return home.

In lieu of a feature-length production, I’ve been developing a trailer to demonstrate the potential movie’s dynamic universe. Rooted heavily in the original Homeric tale, Odyssey tells the familiar classic story of a soldier’s epic journey home. The setting, however is different. Ships fly through space instead of sailing on water, historical lands are represented by planets and mythical monsters are now terrifying alien creatures. Sci-fi will never be the same.
